What is the best AGP video card to replace my ATI Radeon 9600?

I am looking to replace my outdated ATI Radeon 9600 AGP card with 128mb, with something faster and better.

Here's my setup:

Asus A7V8X-X motherboard

AMD Athlon XP 2800 (2.4GHz)

1 GB RAM/ Windows XP Home SP2

160 GB Hard Drive

And while I am open to trying Nvidia graphics cards, I'd prefer to stick with ATI if at all possible. Since I can't afford at this time to upgrade to the latest motherboard just to get PCI-E, I want to know which is the best AGP graphics card for games. Overall great performer. I don't want to go over $200, though. Thanks!|||Try the ATI X1650 Pro AGP. It's priced at around $150. The very fast X1950 Pro AGP goes for $230 - 250. Nvidia has the fastest, the 7950GT AGP. It goes for $255-290.|||Get a ATI X1650 256 MB. Its great.|||I would suggest for AGP applications this.

GeForce 7800 GS OC. I'm not sure the cost but I know it's right around $200.00 Ithink it's closer to $250.00 though.

Hope it helps|||Also try the XFX 6800xt extreme 265mb ddr3 its not bad

the x1650 256mb make sure its ddr3 not ddr2 the ddr3 is the best.

7600gs is very good also.

I also need to change my card my agp 6600gt 128mb bombed out yesterday and I am faced with the same problem and I am flat broke.

Good Luck man
