I have someone with an older computer that sadly does not support PCI Express graphics cards and only has a slot for AGP. I know they are now obsolete and old technology but I was looking for the best card for its price, hopefully below $150 and most likely not as high as $200.
This is not a high powered gaming person and just wants a better graphics card for average gameplay, hopefully to be good enough to play something like Half Life 2 on medium or something at 800x600.
Also we are not planning for a new motherboard. We do not have the resources or willing to save up the money for a new system, this is just a basic graphics card upgrade and nothing more.|||Give newegg.com a shot.
I find them usually unbeatable with their price.
The best AGP cards I found there are here:

Now if you find cheaper for that speed, please by all mean, let me know.|||they use to sell 7800gs for AGP but i cant find it
but here is a 7600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||An ATI Radeon X1650 Pro sold for $160 last i checked...a year ago. Now with directX 10, it's dropped to an amazingly low price of $70, and well worth it.

that card comes in AGP with 512MB of memory.
That'll play Half life 2 on full specs (highest video settings, including full 16x anti aliasing)
It's a directx9 card though, not a directx 10 card.
Though i doubt this person has Vista on an old AGP computer, so it probably doesn't matter anyway
PS: If you get a x1650 Pro, get it from Saphire, not HIS. Saphire seems to have better quality, while HIS products seem to have a high dead-on-arrival rate.

Edit: Don't get a Radeon 9600Pro. It's horribly obsolete!|||After looking into the issue a bit for you I have found the POWERCOLOR R96-D3G Radeon 9600PRO 256MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card to be the best bet for you.|||gainward 7800gs bliss 512. just google it, you can pick them up on ebay, the fastest agp card ever made.
